Alan & Jam Trading Limited is a private company limited by shares, registered in Ireland under company number 808867, with its registered office at 18 Mallow Street Upper, Limerick, V94 N12Y, Ireland. What we collect
- When you email us: your name, email address, company, job title and anything you choose to include, such as tender documents, product requirements or a property brief.
- When we work with you or your company: contact details of the people we deal with, and the records needed to quote, contract, deliver, invoice and keep accounts.
- When you visit this website: our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and its fonts are served from our own domain.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation or proposal: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), or our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To perform a contract with you or your company: Article 6(1)(b).
- To keep accounting, tax and company records: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- To run and secure our business and this website: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
Only where it is needed for one of the purposes above:
- suppliers, manufacturers, contractors and logistics providers involved in your tender, order or project;
- professional advisers, such as accountants, solicitors and property professionals;
- service providers that host our website and email for us;
- public authorities, where the law requires it.
Some suppliers and partners may be outside the European Economic Area. When we transfer personal data there, we rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to business are kept for up to two years and then deleted. Contract, accounting and tax records are kept for six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as Irish law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, to stop using it, or to send it to you in a portable format. Write to the address above and we will reply within one month. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
